Aquatic Explorations

Los Alamitos is very well-known for it's great schools and highly competitive programs (such as dance, music, sports, etc). When it comes to aquatics, Los Alamitos is the place to be. As home to the USA Water Polo National Aquatic Center--where the US Olympic water polo team trains-- the city offers relatively inexpensive (group and private) swimming lessons all throughout summer for kids, adults, beginners, and even advanced swimmers.

If you want to go the private school route, there is a swim school called Aquatic Explorations nestled in a little business/commercial area. The location is modestly sized, but kid friendly and comfortable. There is plenty of comfortable seating for the parents, rubber mats all around the pool, a kiddie boat with toys for accompanying children, a chest full of little prizes for the little swimmers (given at the end of each lesson) and conveniently only 3 minutes away from where we live in "carrier row". Oh, and did I mention this place has received GREAT reviews on Yelp.com?

My daughter has only been to two sessions, but she already feels very comfortable with her instructor, Mac. I am very excited to see her progress and hope that this school is worth the money--I have a feeling it will be!
